I am a PhD candidate in the computer science department at (Tufts University). I am being advised by Prof. Fahad Dogar. Before joining Tufts University, I received an MSc in Computer Science from LUMS in 2016. In 2010, I received a BSc in Telecommunication Engineering from NUCES, Lahore. Prior to pursuing my graduate studies, I worked in IT & Telecommunication industry in Pakistan from 2010-2014.

Research Interests

I am broadly interested in the areas of cloud computing and data center networking. Currently, I am working on making duplication a first class concept inside a cloud system to minimize the tail latency of cloud applications.

News

  • Spent summer'23 at Meta working as a PhD software engineering intern. I worked on the performance-isolation tradeoff for the encode service stack that powers video transcoding across Meta's family of application

  • Poster: "Towards Predictable Job Completion Times in Shared GPU Clusters" NSDI 2023
  • Our paper on network resource management is accepted at SoCC 2022
  • Spent summer'22 at Meta working as a PhD software engineering intern where I got the opportunity to incorporate support for ASIC powered video transcoders in the encode service stack.
  • Passed Qualifying Exam
  • Our work on duplicate-aware scheduling is accepted at ACM CoNEXT 2019
  • Our work on workload adaptive flow scheduling is accepted at ACM CoNEXT 2018
