This is my collection of pictures of ceilings. Some of them I have taken, some have been taken by others. This collection was started because one day I went to a wedding, and came back with wedding pictures that contained no pictures of people. One of them, however, was a picture of the ceiling of the hotel room I stayed in. Pretty much every one I showed the pictures to thought I was crazy, especially as none of the bridal party were vampires, and therefore should all (theoretically) show up on film. So, I decided to reinforce their view by making a webpage to showcase my small but growing collection of of ceiling pictures. The images shown below are thumbnails, click on any one to see full resolution ceiling glory.
Hampton Inn, Ithaca, NY, Rm. 201
This is the picture that started it all. Its the ceiling of the hotel I stayed at for the wedding. Its rather lumpy, and white, and rather blurry. My ceiling capture techniques must improve.
This is a picture my friend Zinger sent. It is the ceiling above the American Airlines ticket counter, in Terminal B, as seen on August 1st 2006. I can't really tell what its made of, but it does appear to have florescent lighting embedded in it.
This is the ceiling of my secret lair in the Tisch library. Obviously, I can't tell you exactly where this picture was taken. The ceiling is made up of those fissured acoustic ceiling panels you see everywhere. Behind the panels is probably a plenum space, but as this is a secret lair, I can neither confirm nor deny that such a space exists.
This is my living room ceiling. That dusty thing is a fan blade attached to the ceiling fan. Although I am a fan of ceilings, I am not a ceiling fan. I dusted it after I took this picture, and realized how badly it needed dusting.
This is the ceiling in the living room of my friend Beth, in Columbus, Ohio. It was taken in mid August 2006. The ceiling is rather lumpy, and looks like it might make a good dessert topping. I'm not sure what its made of.
This is the ceiling in my friend Zinger's room, in Brighton, MA. It has some weird cross beams. I dunno what they are for, but one could probably use it as a giant tic-tac-toe board.
Blue Hill's Watch Tower Ceiling
This is the ceiling of a watch tower in the Blue Hill park. You have to hike up the hill to get to it, and then you have a nice view of Boston. Even better, you have a great view of this ceiling.
This is the ceiling of the chapel where my sister was married. There is some kinda weird green thing on it, and a light. It was a beutiful ceiling.
This is the ceiling of my friend Lindsey's dorm room. It looks kinda like the surface of the moon, and based on that I conclude it is made if ilmenite.
Lindsey says this is her favorite ceiling, but I'm pretty sure its an optical illusion. I put it up any way.
