I've been playing on the BBN soccer team since 1995. My first two years with the team were quite frustrating as we went a combined 1-14-0 (win-loss-tie). Although we only won one game in two years, that result can be a little misleading as we played competitively in many of those games. I can only remember a couple of games where we were totally out classed.
In 1997 the team was somewhat successful as we made it into the playoffs with a 3-3-1 record and, for the first time ever in BBN's history, made it all the way into the championship game which we ended up loosing to McGraw Hill.
In 1998 we had a lot of changes. We lost our star forward and had lots of new faces. Our final record was 2-3-2 and we didn't make the playoffs. The following year we struggled even more. With many injuries and departures we had trouble fielding a full team at times. We still played competitively though we finished with a 0-6-1 record.
The 2000 season was fun, though we struggled to score. We played some of our best defense in the last five or six years, but with no consistent offense, we struggled for most of the year. We did play one of our best games during the six years I've been with the team in our final game against EquiScorers. Down a player, in fact we were down two players by the end as we sustained an injury to our midfield, we kept fighting back to tie the game and finally lost by a goal. This was the best team effort I have ever seen by the BBN squad.
