I visited Boston's local horse track, Suffolk Downs, for the first time last year and had such a blast that I went again this year. There's the big Massachusetts Handicap event (MassCap), which usually happens the last weekend in May or the first weekend in June. That's followed the next weekend by the closing day of racing for the season. They close the track in the summer and move horse racing up north to the Rockingham track in NH.
Part of what I enjoy, besides the atmosphere and watching the actual horses run, is taking pictures of the races. I especially like getting good starting photos, which becomes a somewhat difficult task as they keep moving the starting line for the different race length.
