Course outline
Chapter 1-7 (selected topics) of the textbook.
We will cover the basics of analysis and design in feedback control systems. After a couple of review lectures, I will focus on modeling of dynamical systems, ranging from electrical, mechanical, and chemical systems; LTI systems, in general. We will then move to stability analysis using root-locus, frequency-response, and state-space methods. The course will emphasize on state-space theory and Lyapunov analysis.
If time permits, I would like to introduce some advanced concepts, namely, structured control, genericity properties, and LMI (Linear Matrix Inequalities) formulations.
I would assume a sound understanding of 'Linear Algebra' and 'Signal and Systems'. If concepts like vector spaces, LTI systems, convolution, Laplace, Fourier, and z transforms are unfamiliar, you may like to consider talking to me in advance.

**Late Homework Policy: No late homework will be accepted unless under very special circumstances that should be discussed with me well in advance. In those "special" circumstances, I reserve the right to accept/reject or accept at a discounted rate of -10%/day. HW has to be handed to me in class on the day it is due (submission procedure on the day with no class will be made available when needed). Please DO NOT put the solution in my or the TAs mailbox.
