Research Assistant

Tufts University Department of Mechanical Engineering, September 2000 – May 2002

Assist professor (Chris Rogers) with various programming tasks, such as creating interactive teaching tools and an online student management system.  Responsibilities also included a webmaster position (www.ceeo.tufts.edu) as well as working on the NASA SENSORS site (see below).

The Science and Engineering NASA Site of Remote Sensing, January 2001 – May 2002

Developed website used to help educate about remote sensing.  Incorporated a variety of technologies (ASP, JavaScript, Flash, SQLServer, LabView/RoboLab) in creating a system to control robots over the internet.

 

Webmaster

Spotfire, Inc., Davis Sq. Somerville MA. June 2000 – September 2001

Webmaster and technical advisor for data visualization company's website (www.spotfire.com), updating pages and integrating with backend databases.  Supported marketing department, working on a team with designer, technical writer, and developer.  Developed content management system to allow browser based updates to the site, as well as customized tracking system to monitor visitors’ actions.

 

Programming Intern

First Call Interactive, Cambridge MA. Summer 1999

Programmed web and database applications for a small internet startup company in Harvard Sq. Assisted in redesigning and programming client's intranet webpage. Drafted and implemented automatic database storage of daily news stories with accompanying search engine (Perl, Oracle).
