Project Interests

My teaching, research, and project interests encompass such widely diverse topics as Visualization, Parallel Computing, Parallel Program Debugging and Performance Analysis, Software Systems Development, Configuration Management, Qualitative Research, and Information Science. Students have worked with me on an even more diverse list of projects, including Fractal Geometry, Virtual Reality, X11 and Motif programming, Systems Programming and Analysis, and multiple implementations of interactive games.

• Sowhat: the global dependency analyzer. A program that unravels and reports upon the sometimes complex relationships between dynamic libraries and the programs that reference them.
• Transition planning for autonomic computing. In this project, we explore the steps necessary to convert from manual to automated host and network management. Mail me for details.
